From the skilled seamstress to the novice who can find their way around a sewing needle, the Springfield Little Theatre Costume Shop is always looking for volunteers to help in the shop. Our full-time costume designers build hundreds of costumes each season for our shows and welcome volunteers of all skill levels!
Possible volunteer responsibilities may include:
- Organizing
- Crafting
- Alterations
- Taking measurements
- Ordering materials
- Machine sewing
- Hand sewing
- Labeling
- Laundry
- Transferring costumes to theatre from shop

COSTUME SHOP CLASSES
Beginning Sewing
Learn the essentials of sewing in this introductory class, perfect for teens and adults eager to create their own garments and crafts. In this course students will learn many hand-stitching techniques and the basics of machine sewing. Each student will also build their own small project by the end of the six weeks!
Advanced Sewing
After mastering the basics of sewing in our introductory level course, students are encouraged to join our Advanced Sewing Session! This course will focus on advancing your sewing skills as well as focusing on specific techniques and projects during each session!
